Sakae Sushi New Menu

Untitled
I was delighted upon receiving an invitation email to attend the media event organized by my favourite company, Sakae Sushi. In conjunction with Sakae Sushi's new menu launch, bloggers and journalists were invited to their food tasting session at Marina Square outlet on Tuesday 11 June 2013.

Look at those cute froggie plushies peeping at us in the goodie bags.

Two tables set up nicely for us to dine-in at Marina Square #02-207

We are lucky to have the opportunity to taste all of these yummies.

Ika Okura - SGD$6.29
Use a spoon to scoop the viscously lady's fingers with squids instead of using the chopsticks. Ika Okura is a light appetiser before you continue your feast on sushi and other dishes. I love eating lady's fingers, if I was blindfolded when I try Ika Okura for the first time, I wouldn't know there are squids in it. Now I probably recognized Ika Okura by the very sticky texture. I would prefer Ika Okura sushi, it'll be easier and tastier eating the seasoned lady's fingers with squids and rice.

Honey Sakura Ebi - SGD$6.29
Have fun eating Sakura Ebi like a kid. Children sure love these sweet honey and crispy prawns.

Untitled
Asari Miso - SGD$6.29
We finished up Asari Miso once it was served on our table.
We never had enough of the little chewy clams marinated with sweet miso paste.

Daddy Amoz was so envious that I get to drink Seven Smiles pure rice Sake during this food tasting session :p
One bottle of Junmaishu cost SGD$15.99 only (I can buy one bottle for Amoz to celebrate Fathers' Day)
I am not an alcoholic person, however I would give this a try,
it is definitely rich and savoury with good finishing acidity.
Don't forget to drink sake while eating Sashimi, they are perfectly match.

Introducing our first Sashimi Moriawase -
Katsuo (Japanese name for Shipjack Tuna) - SGD$6.29
I grabbed a slice and slowly chew the awesomeness out of the fish meat.
Just spread a bit of soy sauce and wasabi on the slice of  Shipjack Tuna, if you are afraid of the fishy taste.

Untitled
Kohada - SGD$4.29
The Kohada (gizzard shad) is a small sardine type of fish.
I like to eat the smooth, silvery, shiny, deboned and special flavoured fish.
I strongly recommend everybody to try this :)

Mentai Kamo Sushi - SGD$7.99
Finally it's my favourite sushi time!! Smoked duck on rice, with half grilled codfish and roe sauce topping, Mentai Kamo Sushi is the best among the three types of sushi platters served.
This is the moment when everyone used both their camera and phone to snap more photos to share on Instagram, Facebook and other social media platform.

Aburi Nama Hotate Sushi - SGD$7.99
Seared sushi consisting of scallop, topped with salmon roe
Too busy focusing on the sushi, nobody actually touch the rose shape pickled ginger and wasabi leaf, or maybe don't want to destroy the beautiful artwork.

Froggie mascot show its cute smiley appearance again at the end of the food tasting session.
The Frog symbolises a brand that is far sighted and poised to grow by leaps and bounds.
Its smile indicates a friendly company, welcoming all. The Chinese Character “荣” means growth. The frog’s head and belly also symbolises the number “8” an auspicious number that means ‘luck’.
